Core Gripping Roll Handling Unit

We make lots of different models of roll handling units. This core-gripping model uses a hydraulic expandable core. Because it is hydraulic it has fantastic gripping power and we can set the desired clamp pressure to suit the roll type.

Core grippers are only good for picking up rolls of film or paper that do not telescope when you pick them up from the core. The rotation from vertical to horizontal is controlled by a motor gearbox unit. This has an electronic controller that allows us to program the rotational speed and torque.

Ex Vacuum Drum Rotator

The full stainless steel unit is designed to lift and tip small drums and buckets. The drum is connected to the head via 4 silicone vacuum cups. This system is especially good when the container you want to pick up has no real rigidity.

Because the vacuum cups pick up the from the back of the drum the unit can be used to pick drums up that are stacked close together on a pallet. The unit is very narrow so an operator can work close to the head unit and is not obstructed by the width of the rotator head.

Heavy Duty Roll handlers

These Heavy Duty Roll handlers are manufactured using a parallelogram mechanism to always keep the clamps perpendicular to the roll while it is being clamped.

This allows the same unit to pick up a variety of rolls with differing diameters. The clamping mechanism has a mechanical brake to ensure the roll is not released if the power is disconnected.

Variation in specification can be made to suit your application.

Bespoke Units - Nirex waste drum handling range

These units are part of our Nirex waste drum handling range.

The range includes fully powered lift, clamp and drive. We even have models that weigh the contents.

The telescopic unit has a chain wheel clamping action so the unit can be operated at a height of up to 2500mm.

DPC01 Counter-Balance Powered Drum Lifter

This unit is designed to lift and move 200 litre steel drums.

The unit has 1200mm of powered lift so that it can stack drums on top of each other. The power drive system is very controllable and easy to operate. It uses the latest intelligent AC/DC drive system. There are many safety features built into the system like auto reversing. The unit suits companies who have to handle lots of drums per day.

Roll Turning : 1100 kilos Lift & Rotate Forwards

This is one of our heavy-duty Roll Handling
units, manufactured to lift and turn rolls of paper weighing
up to 1100 kilos.

The self-contained roll handler will straddle a pallet and can clamp and lift the rolls from the vertical position. Once the roll has been lifted the unit can be moved away from the pallet.

The operator can then press a button to rotate the roll forwards to the horizontal position. The roll can then be lowered down to the floor. The clamp can then be released. 

Special Tipping Unit

This special unit is designed to pick up and tip large mixing vessels. The vessel weighs 600 kg when full.

It is very easy to tip the vessel due to the hydraulic tip system, which allows the bowl to be kept at a steep tip angle safely.

This is attached to a manual stacker unit but a powered lift and tip model is available.

Telescopic Drum Tipper

This unit is specially designed to work in GMP clean areas.

The unit can pick up and tip various sized drums. The telescopic mast makes the mast short so that the unit can be transported through standard doorways. Once the unit is fully telescoped up it is able to tip drums into vessels 2400mm high. The control for the tip can be from behind the unit or we can supply a pendant controller so that the operator can be near the tipping head.
The unit is built with sealed precision bearings. There is no grease or worm screws that attract dirt. Cleaning the unit is very easy due to the design. The rear wheel steering makes manoeuvring the unit very light and controllable.

Drum Tongs

These special tongs are designed to pick up a 205-litre drum and place them in an overpack drum.

The gap between the 2 drums when one is place inside the other is only 20mm.

The tongs have a parallel lead screw, which is used to open and close the gripping pads. We make these types of tongs in different sizes to suit the exact specification.

Pallet Positioning unit

This unit is a mobile Pallet Positioner.

The operator can wheel the unit to the correct position next to a conveyor where products need to be loaded onto a pallet. The brake can then be applied and the empty pallet can be loaded into the front of the unit with a pallet truck.
The operator will simply press 1 button to raise the pallet to a comfortable height. Once the pallet is partially loaded the operator can lower the pallet by pressing the down button.
Once the pallet is at floor level the pallet can be removed with a pallet truck.
There is an emergency stop button that is easily accessible on the panel.
