Roll Rotator
We supplied this unit to lift and rotate rolls of material from pallets onto machines. The customer needed to handle rolls of 800mm diameter, 2200-3500mm wide and weighing 420kg.
How the unit works
- The operator wheels the unit to the roll that is standing on the pallet.
- The V Bed is raised to line up with the centre point of the roll.
- The ratchet straps are then fixed around the roll and tensioned up to pull the roll against the V Bed.
- The roll is then lifted clear of the pallet. This is done by pressing the button of the power lift unit.
- Once the roll is lifted off the pallet the operator rotates the roll by turning a handle on the gearbox until the roll is horizontal.
- The unit is then wheeled to the unwinder. The shaft can then be inserted through the core.
- The ratchet straps can then be disconnected and the roll lowered into the chucks.
