Key product features

Rubber pad design

Rubber pad design

We supply this barrel handling trolley with a set of rubber-lined fixed radius pads. The pads grip the drum and along with the ratchet securing system secure the drum in place. The pads accommodate a wide range of drum diameters and are useful when unusual plastic drums need to be moved. If your drum has a defined top lip then our signature Universal Drum Trolley can be used instead.

Ratchet and securing strap

Ratchet and securing strap

A heavy-duty 50mm stainless steel ratchet and polyester webbing strap is fitted to the barrel trolley. Once the trolley is positioned next to the barrel, simply adjust the strap length and tighten securely around the drum. This design maximises contact between the rubber pads and the drum offering a safe and secure system.

Balanced load

Operator using a drum truck to move barrels of up to 350kg

Balanced load

When you move the barrel truck into the deployed position, the wheels move beneath the barrel. By positioning the centre of gravity (CoG) directly over the wheels, the force required to move a drum is significantly reduced when compared to a traditional sack truck. This innovative design feature was pioneered by us in 1999 and continues to be popular around the world.

Stainless-steel construction

Stainless-steel construction

All our barrel handling trolleys are manufactured from corrosion-resistant stainless steel (304-grade). Throughout industry our trolleys are subjected to very harsh environments and high levels of use. By using only the finest materials and manufacturing techniques we ensure each trolley outperforms and outlasts all other barrel trolleys on the market.

Chemical-resistant wheels

Chemical-resistant wheels

Our Barrel Handling Trolley is designed for moving barrels weighing up to 350kg on flat level ground. We supply the trolley with high-quality elasticated rubber wheels which last many years of continuous usage. Rubber-sealed (RS) precision bearings are fitted to the wheels offering low rolling resistance, this makes the unit easy to operate on a variety of hard floor surfaces.

Drum suitability

Collection of screw-top drums suitable for use with an STS drum trolley

Drum suitability

Our Barrel Handling Trolley can handle a wide range of drum types including high-density polyethylene (HDPE) food drums with screw top lids. These drums are known to contain foods such as olives and pickles and are often difficult to handle, predominantly due to their unusual lid type. For a breakdown of the drums with which this product is compatible, please see the drum suitability document below. If the drums you use aren’t in the document, contact us and we'll give you guidance.
